The cooperation originates from the interest that, since always, Fiat has towards design universe not only applied to the automotive sector but to a 360̊ interest. Meritalia, always known for its valuable know-how able to create custom solutions to meet any aesthetic or functional request, proved itself the ideal company with which to achieve this ambitious project. The whole project has been attended by Lapo Elkann who made the idea concrete thanks to his own creativity and the intuition to keep in contact design professionals belonging to so different work fields such as furniture and automative sector.





Each name is inspired by a vision "open air" of the 500, imagined in a park where you can enjoy a romantic view, organize a picnic with friends or celebrate with a toast.

Milan April 11th 2011, in occasion of 50° Salone del Mobile, Fiat presents the "Fiat 500 Design Collection" with the creative partnership of Lapo Elkann and the productive partnership of Meritalia. In Turin, July 4 1957 it was presented the Nuova Fiat 500, a true icon of our time with which Fiat concluded a revival that began in post-war phase. On July 4, 2007, exactly 50 years later, it was presented, again in Turin, the new Fiat 500. "Fiat 500 Design Collection" is a tribute that Lapo Elkann and Meritalia pay to an icon of our time. The collection includes a sofa, a table and a console. All the furniture are inspired by Fiat 500 from the 70's and they all carry the label "Lapo and Meritalia pay homage to Fiat 500. "FIAT 500 Design Collection" will be previewed in Milan, during an event, on April 11th 2011.
